|High “R” Expectations uses a two step process, spray foam to insulate and completely seal the building envelop in combination with blown Cellulose to the required depth to provide the desired R rating at a cost effective rate.
STEP ONE PRODUCT (WALLTITE ECO™ Spray Foam)
WALLTITE ECO™ exceeds the requirements of the National Building Code of Canada. In fact, WALLTITE air barrier systems are the only products available on the market today that have successfully met the polyurethane durability test of appendix D of the “Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) Technical Guide for Air Barrier Systems for Exterior Walls of Low-Rise Buildings.” WALLTITE systems also conform to CAN/ULC-S705.1 (including amendments 1 and 2).
WALLTITE ECO™ uses bio-based polyols from rapidly-renewable materials. WALLTITE ECO™ includes polyols from castor oil, which do not need to be chemically processed and enhance the performance of the spray foam. Considerations for selecting renewable raw materials to replace fossil fuel based resources include availability at competitive prices and suitability for industrial applications—all without compromising food production and depleting natural resources. For WALLTITE ECO™, BASF Canada chose to use renewable content from non-edible crops that do not jeopardize global food production. Castor (Ricinus communis L.) is an important non-edible oilseed crop boasting an average yield of 2000–2,750 kg of oil for each hectare planted every year. This is an important step in the continuous improvement of BASF products,with the goal of including more bio-based content while enhancing product performance.

STEP 2 PRODUCT (Weathershield™ Blown Cellulose)
Weathershield™ offers greater performance value than other fibrous insulation types. Light density materials such as glass fibre products are susceptible to air infiltration and convective heat loss which can dramatically reduce the rated Rvalue of these products. In comparison, Weathershield™'s high density dramatically reduces air leakage, controlling air and moisture infiltration. Also, Weathershield™ organic fibres are far less susceptible to convective and radiative heat loss and therefore perform better in keeping you both warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Properly applied, Weathershield™ will not settle under normal conditions of service. In addition, thermal resistance, acoustical value, fire resistance or any other characteristics are permanent features of the product. These Weathershield™ benefits will not change with the passage of time.
