High “R” Expectations uses a two step process, spray foam to insulate and completely seal the building envelop in combination with blown Cellulose to the required depth to provide the desired R rating at a cost effective rate.

Walltite Eco Spray FoamSTEP ONE PRODUCT (WALLTITE ECO™ Spray Foam)
WALLTITE ECO™ is the first medium density polyurethane to earn the EcoLogo, endorsed by Environment Canada as one of the most widely recognized environmental certifications in North America. It has also been recognized as a best in class insulation air barrier system through an Eco-efficiency analysis measuring total cost and ecological impact.

WALLTITE ECO™ exceeds the requirements of the National Building Code of Canada. In fact, WALLTITE air barrier systems are the only products available on the market today that have successfully met the polyurethane durability test of appendix D of the “Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) Technical Guide for Air Barrier Systems for Exterior Walls of Low-Rise Buildings.” WALLTITE systems also conform to CAN/ULC-S705.1 (including amendments 1 and 2).

WALLTITE ECO™ uses bio-based polyols from rapidly-renewable materials. WALLTITE ECO™ includes polyols from castor oil, which do not need to be chemically processed and enhance the performance of the spray foam. Considerations for selecting renewable raw materials to replace fossil fuel based resources include availability at competitive prices and suitability for industrial applications—all without compromising food production and depleting natural resources. For WALLTITE ECO™, BASF Canada chose to use renewable content from non-edible crops that do not jeopardize global food production. Castor (Ricinus communis L.) is an important non-edible oilseed crop boasting an average yield of 2000–2,750 kg of oil for each hectare planted every year. This is an important step in the continuous improvement of BASF products, with the goal of including more bio-based content while enhancing product performance.

Weathershield Blown Cellulose InsulationSTEP 2 PRODUCT (Weathershield™ Blown Cellulose)
Weathershield™ is a fibrous loose-fill thermal/acoustical type of insulation made from selected recycled paper stock blended with appropriate additives to provide resistance to fire, fungi, corrosion and pests. Weathershield™ is designed to be pneumatically placed using a blowing machine and delivery hose, Weathershield™ can also be spray-applied or even hand-poured in certain applications. Machine application is best, ensuring the product is properly conditioned and placed in the most efficient and economical manner. Weathershield™ provides both high R-Value and resistance to airleakage. As a loose-fill, Weathershield™ is ideal for horizontal or moderately sloped attic spaces up to 4½:12 in pitch. This product is also pneumatically dry-injected to fill enclosed spaces such as the cavities of flat or sloped ceilings, vertical walls and floors. Weathershield™ is used in both new construction and retrofit applications. Weathershield™ displays Environment Canada's "EcoLogo" (Environmental Choice Program), classifying it as an "environmentally friendly" or "green" building product.

Weathershield™ offers greater performance value than other fibrous insulation types. Light density materials such as glass fibre products are susceptible to air infiltration and convective heat loss which can dramatically reduce the rated Rvalue of these products. In comparison, Weathershield™'s high density dramatically reduces air leakage, controlling air and moisture infiltration. Also, Weathershield™ organic fibres are far less susceptible to convective and radiative heat loss and therefore perform better in keeping you both warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Properly applied, Weathershield™ will not settle under normal conditions of service. In addition, thermal resistance, acoustical value, fire resistance or any other characteristics are permanent features of the product. These Weathershield™ benefits will not change with the passage of time.
